It is becoming very difficult for every parent to bear the expenses of higher education. Because of this many talented students are not able to complete their studies. The increasing child labor in the country is also due to the parents not paying the higher school fees.

why the West Bengal government launched Student credit card scheme 2021, in
which every eligible student can take a loan up to 10 lakhs, this amount can be
filled after getting the job and students can complete higher education in India
as well as in aboard.

OBJECTIVE
West Bengal Student Credit Card Scheme 2021 objective is to provide financial assistance to the students at the nominal interest rate. Financial assistance will be provided to the students along with a bank guarantee. Students who have been living in West Bengal for at least 10 years and are studying from class 10th will be able to take advantage of this scheme. Students can appear in various competitive exams like Engineering, Medical, Law, IAS. Financial assistance can be obtained under this scheme for IPS etc. It will prove to be very beneficial for the poor families who are not able to afford higher education by the government. 10 lakh will be provided from State Co-operative Banks, Central Co-operative Banks, and District Co-operative Banks at the rate of 4 percent interest.
ELIGIBILITY
- To take a loan in this scheme, the student should be a citizen of India and a resident of West Bengal for the last 10 years.
- The age of the eligible student should not be more than 40 years to avail of the loan.
- Eligible students will apply on the given online portal which will be maintained by the Higher Education Department.
- On the portal, the student will have to link his Aadhar card or 10th class registration number.
- According to the information given by the student, based on the recommendation of the Education Department, the bank will issue the credit card after checking.
- The student has to upload his/her progress report card on completion of the examination of every semester.
- Under the scheme, loan amount up to Rs 10 lakh will be provided at 4% simple interest rate.
- The student can take the loan amount at any time during the course of studies.
- Immediately after disbursing the loan by the bank, the information of the loan will be uploaded on the portal of the department.
- The loan amount is to be deposited by the student applying, and the parent/legal guardian as co-borrower.
- The student and the parent/legal guardian will enter into an agreement with the bank.
- Life insurance will be done in the name of the student up to the loan amount whose premium will be paid by the student. The student can also pay its premium from the loan account.

- Click STUDENT CREDIT CARD tab or Log in to https://wbscc.wb.gov.in Click on the STUDENT REGISTRATION form option.
- fill up the Registration of Student form and then Click on Register button to generate user id and password.
- Fill the complete details as demanded.
- Upload the Student Photo (between 50KB to 20KB)
- Upload Signature (between 50KB to 10KB)
- Upload documents in PDF format (Between 400KB to 50KB)

If you want to apply for West Bengal Student Credit Card Scheme then you have to follow the instructions given below:-
- First of all, you have to ask for this scheme by going to the State Co-operative Bank or its affiliated Central Co-operative Bank or District Central Co-operative Bank or Public or Private Sector Bank.
- Now you have to get the form issued by the government for this scheme from the bank.
- After that, in the application form, candidates can enter all their required details like Name, Father's Name, Mobile No. Fill etc.
- Attach all the above-mentioned documents with the application form and submit it.
- On submitting the application like a bank, a reference number will be given so that you will be able to track it later.
- Now you have to attach all the required documents with this application form
- After that, you have to submit this form to the same bank from where you have taken it.
