Bitlocker is a tool (System Software) that comes with Windows, through which Disk Drives like Pen Drive, Hard Drive, etc. can be encrypted by adding password so that no one can steal or view your important data without your knowledge and use. Also, Bitlocker is one of the very useful tools that come with Windows. But it does not come with every Variant or Version of Windows.

Bitlocker came into the market only after Windows Vista, that is, Bitlocker does not work on all the versions before it, in addition, if seen in the variants of Windows, then Windows Home Editions like Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows 8.1 Home with Bitlocker. However, in these variants Bitlocker can be used and for that, you have to do this by giving Commands using Power Shell which is a bit difficult for a normal user.

Technique of Encryption

Bitlocker tool is a useful tool to protect you from offline attacks, ie if your computer gets widened or your hard disk and pen drive gets widened then if there is no encryption like Bitlocker then easily get your data. Maybe he just has to install that hard drive or pen drive in his computer (even though the user account data cannot be easily accessed but the rest of the data can be accessed easily), then all these things On the go, Bitlocker was created so that you can also encrypt Drives. It is only available for Windows but other operating systems like Mac OS or Android also have their own tools which we will talk about later.

How to use BitLocker Drive Encryption

Now we are considering the process of protecting step by step: 

1. First, connect your pen drive to the USB port of the Computer System.  

2. Without opening USB drive, go to search box and type "BitLocker Drive Encryption"

3. Click on the button and submit the password as your desire to protect your data. As per operating system, password must be unique with at least one upper case, one symbol and special character.

Typing Bitlocker encryption in the search box of the window will show the USB drive and computer drives in the window that is displayed. Press "Turn Bitlocker" in front of the computer drives, then set your password as mentioned above.
